I am currently working as a staff nurse in Intensive Care and really love my job. Alongside this most of my spare time is taken up with my hobby of photography which I have been interested in for many years now.
I have previously used my photographic skills to participate in a charity event. I organised a photo shoot, and was the photographer and the photos were used to produce a calendar which raised £2000 for a local hospice. More recently, I have taken my hobby further by photographing a friend's wedding. I was approached by them to be the main photographer and was apprehensive at first, but reluctantly agreed. When I reviewed the results I was really pleased. The feedback from them was excellent and this has increased my confidence greatly.
I have undertaken several courses on the subject of photography, the most recent course being a short course BTEC in photography at Kirklees College in Dewsbury. The course was based around 2 units. The first was based in the studio and incorporated photographing the object and portraiture, and the second was based out of the studio setting and incorporated photography on location.
I achieved distinctions for both units. I have built up an extensive portfolio of work including, still life, portraiture, landscape and seascape. This work includes several techniques including slow shutter speeds, low light photography and even HDR. I am adept in the use of photography editing programs such as Photoshop and Lightroom and use these on a regular basis.
I am very proud of my photography and the results I have gained so far, and now relish the opportunity to share some of these images with you on this website.
More recently I have photographed another two weddings and these have been a great success. The couples were most pleased with the results I obtained.
